Meet Max! He’s an eight-year-old boy with an older sister named Katia.
Through conversations with Katia, and examples of children from different backgrounds, Max learns that he has the right to an identity, family, home, education, play, free expression and healthcare. In fact, he’s had these rights ever since he was born!
Young readers are introduced to real-world challenges that can keep children from accessing these rights and invited to participate in interactive elements, including short profiles of young “heroes of rights.” Kids Have Rights! provides an accessible introduction to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child with bright illustrations, infographics and comic-style conversations as Max and Katia learn more about their rights and the ways they can protect them.
