Ellie loves science, so she’s super excited about the upcoming science fair—until her teacher announces that they have to present their projects.
Public speaking makes Ellie nervous. She has a stutter, and some “icky” words are especially hard to say, even when she practices with the school speech therapist.
Still, Ellie wants to find the perfect topic for her project, and when an errant honeybee makes its way into her classroom, she finds it. And learning more about bees might help her be less scared of them. Soon she's visiting a beekeeper's farm and doing weekly research, talking to the bees and practicing her words along the way. When the day of the science fair comes, Ellie is proud to have done her best and tackled not just her fears but also some of those icky words!
