A Message from Orca Book Publishers

Orca Book Publishers and author Tanya Boteju apologize unreservedly to Phyllis Webstad and the Orange Shirt Society for the mistakes that were made in the first printing of Allyship As Action. These mistakes while unintentional were especially serious. Using cultural and intellectual property without consent, particularly from an Indigenous Knowledge Keeper, contradicts the values we aim to promote in the book and as a company.

We take full responsibility for this error and have worked to rectify it. Like the book says, sometimes allyship is uncomfortable and we don't always get it right. Learning and making amends is the only way forward.
