Twelve-year-old Halley is doomed to feel invisible. While mom, aunt, and uncle are busy working overtime to afford fixing the leaky roof, Halley is ostracized at school when she doesn’t fawn over a famous new student.
So when her absentee astronomer dad invites her on a camping trip to view the lunar eclipse, Halley hatches Operation Stargazer: If she impresses Dad with her astronomy knowledge, surely she can convince him to let her live with him.
But then Halley discovers that Dad’s invited astronomy whiz-kid Leo on the trip too. She won’t let him outshine her, even if it means eating food she’s allergic to. Things take a terrifying turn, however, when Dad gets injured on a hike. Trapped without a working satellite phone and with the looming threat of a growing forest fire, Halley and Leo must work together and get them all back to safety.
