Molly Applebaum
Molly Applebaum was born in Krakow, Poland, in 1930. After the war, she spent three years in displaced persons camps in Germany and Austria before being accepted as an immigrant to Canada under the Canadian Jewish Congress's War Orphans Project. Molly lived in Sydney, Nova Scotia, in 1948 before moving to Toronto, where she married and started a family. Molly wrote her diary in Polish from 1942-1944 while hidden on a farm in Dbrowa Tarnowska, Poland, and she wrote an accompanying memoir in the 1990s. Buried Words is the first English translation of her diary. Molly Applebaum lives in Toronto.
