Jude Des Chênes had and has three passions: the French language, the forest and billiards. The French language, for its complexity and infinite nuances at the tip of a pen or keyboard. The forest for its sometimes deafening silence, its inexhaustible pool of biological lessons and its inexhaustible beauty. Billiards for its demand for precision, for the interaction of the balls and for the clash with the opponent. Three inexhaustible fields that are impossible to master completely. Since 1974, he has worked as a terminologist, translator and french reviser. Winner of the Governor General's Award for the translation of Le Mythe du sauvage in 1994 and finalist for the same prize in 2000. For the past forty years, he has lived in the forest near Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, on the banks of the Grand Fleuve, which irrigates the gentle Côte-du-Sud region. "
