Carol Matas

Carol Matas is an internationally acclaimed author of over fifty novels for children and young adults. Carol writes contemporary and historical fiction, science fiction, fantasy, and more recently, picture books. Her best-selling work has been translated into more than a dozen languages including Spanish, Japanese, French, and Danish. Carol’s books have garnered over 100 awards and honors. The awards include numerous Sydney Taylor awards, The Geoffrey Bilson award, the inaugural Silver Birch award, two Canadian Jewish Book Awards and two nominations for the Governor General’s Award. Her novel Tucson Jo was a finalist for The National Jewish Book Award. Carol lives in Winnipeg.
