Q: What's the difference between an epub and a pdf?
A: Both epubs and pdf are ebooks. A pdf is a copy of the page layout exactly as it is in the print book. An epub is set up as flowing text that can be read across a number of platforms such as ereaders and even smart phones. For a text-only book, epub may be easier for you to read on screen as you can adjustments the font size. For illustrated books, pdfs work better as they match the layout of the print book and can include color.
Q: How do I find an ebook on your website?
A: Our ebooks are linked to the print editions, so you can look up ebooks as if they are books and select the pdf or epub edition for purchase.
Q: I bought an ebook from your website, why can't I print out the whole book?
A: ebooks are intended to be read in electronic format. That means on your PC or on an ebook reader. Any other use of these files is copyright infringement. We have set these files up with limits on the printing of pages to ensure that the author’s copyright is respected.
Q: Why can't I copy and paste content from the ebook I purchased?
A: As with printing, we have set limitations on copying our ebooks. This is to ensure that our authors' copyright is protected.
Q: Why can't I purchase ebooks using a purchase order?
A: Ebooks are delivered directly to your computer when you order them online. With a print book order, we ship the books to a physical address, we are able to track the shipments, and have reliable contact information for you, the customer. With direct download purchases we have no way to verify that the information loaded into the shopping cart is correct. The risk of fraud is too high.
